About the role

Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a ASSISTANT PLANNING ENGINEER to join our Power Transmission & Distribution business based in Motherwell.

This is an entry level planning role with full training within the power industry and relevant planning software (P6). You will spend time on site working and observing the site based teams to gain an understanding of how the projects are constructed. Senior Planners will coach, mentor and train you in all aspects of planning.

There will be a significant amount of travelling with this role and you will be expected to lodge close to site meaning you will sometimes be away from home for 4 to 5 days. All applicants must be able to drive.

What you'll be doing

On a day to day basis you will be responsible for the following:

* Support the planning and monitoring of all activities within the project programmes;
* Ensure the delivery of weekly and monthly programme reports in line with the project reporting timetable;
* Maintain an accurate fully logically linked programme in line with the contract requirements;
* Plan, structure and support the planning of the project programme of works;
* Support the interface between the programme and the operational staff through structured meetings, programme and progress reporting;
* Highlight both the dependencies and the interfaces between stakeholders;
* Identify programme risks and help propose mitigation strategies.
