What is the purpose of this role?

To undertake or assist in the accounting for Amey’s suite of facilities management contracts supporting school’s in six local authorities across Scotland. This will involve ensuring that transactions are accurately recorded on a timely basis, with proper adherence to authorisations and control protocols, and ensuring that management reporting fulfils the prescribed internal and external reporting requirements.

What will this role involve?

Resolve invoice queries; ensure accurate and timely cost allocation within relevant profit centres; Preparation of accruals, prepayments and month end journals; Undertake /assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and board packs; Assist with preparation of year end audit requirements.

What are we looking for?

Part qualified ACCA/CIMA or equivalent; Strong IT skills, including good knowledge of SAP and Excel; Ability to work independently with minimum supervision; Ability to think ahead, plan work and meet deadlines; Ability to achieve tight deadlines with high degree of quality and understanding; Accuracy and attention to detail; Good communication skills, both written and oral; Strong customer service focus; Commitment to continuing professional development; Good team player.

You will undertake/assist with budgeting, re-forecasting and cash flow forecasting.

You will be supported towards full qualification of an accountancy qualification.
