The position will be based at our Head Office in Welwyn Garden City

Main Responsibilities

Identifying opportunities for Tesco to grow market share via its portfolio of own and exclusive brands.

Translate our customer targets and business objectives into opportunities for our brands.

Build a best practice research and insight toolkit for supporting brand development and evaluating brand performance against targets.

Work with the internal stakeholders and our creative agencies to ensure our brand Communications are building our brand equity and helping us achieve our brand jobs to do.

Ensure the ambitious program of new product development and innovation is matched by a best in class product evaluation and benchmarking programme.

Quantify the drivers of loyalty and work with the proposition team to ensure our loyalty offer meets the needs of our customers, prioritising opportunities for growing customer loyalty.

The Role Assistant Insight Manager

As an Assistant Insight Manager, you would be responsible for taking the lead on consumer research projects to aid product innovation and quality perception.

* Lead on the Consumer testing for one or more of our product development/Technical team across Food/Non-Food/General Merchandise/Pet. Responsible for regularly meeting with your category/suppliers, understanding current research needs, building research proposals that will meet their objectives.
* Building the research where appropriate (i.e. questionnaire design, online surveys) or liaising with internal testing teams or external agencies to brief and outsource the research.
* Manage testing quotes; ensuring research is within budget and timelines.
* Analysing the results and writing up into a report format.
* Debriefing suppliers/product developers/technical on the research, advising on next steps for product improvement.
* Input into new methodology design, ensuring methodologies meet the overall business objective.
* Keeping yourself up to date with best practice for the industry.
* Demonstrating your passion for product ensuring we deliver to our customer’s wants and need.
* Working alongside the broader insight teams, to identify areas that require quality improvement.
* Creating best practice research and insight toolkit for supporting brand development and evaluation.
* Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence.
* Supporting the compliance of GSCOP by ensuring all product testing is completed and reported fairly and accurately.
* This role will best suit an individual who enjoys working as part of a team. Is a lateral thinker who is motivated to make change for the better and, most important, puts our customers first.

Ideal Candidate

You’ll need to have demonstrated experience of:

* Conducting/delivering/reporting consumer research and or technical evaluations.
* Analysing research data.
* Experience within Food/Retail/Manufacturing desirable.
* Experience within Market Research desirable.
* Degree/Equivalent qualification/and or experience.
* Experience using Microsoft Office.
