We’re looking for organised, motivated, resourceful individuals who have a flexible can-do attitude to assist providing support to a team of Geotechnical engineers and the wider AECOM business.
As a Geologist, you will be trained in our established working practices and the primary expectations for this role are as follows:
Provide support to team leaders in the delivery of ground investigation projects.
Site supervision of AECOM ground investigation projects
Assist internal drillers and fieldwork operatives in undertaking a wide range of fieldwork activities including Geotechnical trial pitting, drilling, concrete coring, in-situ testing and sampling
Logging of rocks and soils in accordance with BS5930
Assist in the preparation and writing of reports and factual deliverables
A Significant element of the works will be associated with railways and will require regular travel throughout UK with regular periods away from home, undertaking regular night working both during the week and at weekends in all weathers.
Full UK Driving licence.
Possess good communication skills, a desire to learn, take responsibility for quality of deliverables and be able to work effectively as part of a team.
Keen interest in geology and fieldwork in general.
Experience in using MS Office software
PTS, CSCS or any other H&S qualifications.
Experience in working in a Railway and/or Highway environment
Experience of borehole log software (gINT, Holebase etc.)
* BSc in Applied Geology or other relevant technical discipline
