About the Role:

The Development Infrastructure team specialises in providing high level advice to mainly private sector clients on planning and design issues relating to highways, public realm, signal design, sewerage, SUDS, building drainage, earthworks, flood protection and utilities coordination/diversion on residential, retail, industrial and commercial developments both in the UK and overseas.

A typical week would include:

* Working within a team to assist and produce designs and drawings for construction projects and contribute to technical reports for master planning and to support planning applications.

* Working on a number of projects and client accounts at any given time.

* Reporting to a Principal Engineer or Associate.

All staff are encouraged and assisted to progress their training towards ICE Incorporated or Chartered status, with internal and external training opportunities provided.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

* A civil engineering degree (or minimum HNC in Civil Engineering) with experience in highway and/or drainage design.

* Post graduate experience in a civil engineering working environment

* An interest and understanding of drainage and/or highway design principles (layout, etc.).

* Experience in one or more is desirable:-

* the design of sewers using WINDES Micro Drainage,

* highway design using PDS and Civils 3D,

* InfoWorks

* Navisworks

* Autocad

* Microsoft XL.

* The ability to work effectively with colleagues including more senior and junior staff in producing designs, drawings and reports is essential.

* Good written and spoken communication skills and be able to work as part of a team.

* The ability to prepare designs for drainage and/or highway schemes.

* The ability to seek clarity of instructions, check own work before submitting for approval, agree and meet timescales for items of work.

* You will contribute to the delivery of concept studies and strategies with hands on design, leading to planning applications or construction drawing issue.
