As a member of the UK team, you will support local and international projects across the transportation and energy sectors, including railways, highways, metros, marine, wind, hydro, and more.

You will be joined by hundreds of skilled experts, collaborating over the entire lifecycle of a project – from idea, concept and design, to operation and maintenance within our portfolio of tunnels & underground structures, bridges, complex structures, ground engineering and reclamation projects.

DESIGN THE FUTURE WITH A GLOBAL TEAM OF EXPERTS

In this position, you will join our global team of experts and work closely with the Bristol or Derby engineering team. You will report to the Senior/Principal Engineer or the appropriate Project Manager.

On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for:

* Assisting in the development of conceptual design

* Contributing to the designs for a range of highway schemes, including alignments and pavement design.

* Preparation of work for CAD Technicians.

* Production of engineering designs and details in accordance with project requirements

* Preparation of calculations, written reports and checking of contract drawings

* Checking of design calculations and drawings done by other engineers

* Visits to site as required by the project

* A Master's Degree in Civil Engineering and aspire to becoming Chartered in a relevant discipline.

* Experience of UK highway schemes

* Familiarity with relevant UK standards and have an awareness of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges

* An understanding of CDM regulations, specifically the designer's requirements

* An understanding of the requirements regarding the risk assessment process

* Excellent communication skills (oral and written)

* At least 2 years post-graduate experience working in a design environment
