About the Role

WSP has an exciting new opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our growing Engagement team. We work on some of the country’s largest infrastructure projects as well delivering expertise for within the built environment, road, rail, utilities, energy, and environment sectors.
The right candidate will be able to demonstrate a willingness to support the team with stakeholder management, public consultation and community engagement activities.
They will play an important role in developing social media and digital platforms in order that we can enhance the ability of clients and projects to connect with target audiences and hard-to-reach groups.
A typical week would include:
* Working closely with colleagues across the WSP Engagement team as well as WSP teams from across the organisation.
* Building strong relationships with local communities and stakeholders.
* Representing the engagement team at various stakeholder/industry engagement events.
* Researching stakeholders likely to be interested and affected by infrastructure projects.
* Assisting with the delivery of communications logistics associated with engagement activities in local areas.
* Organising local mailings e.g. letter drops to customers, circulation of materials to venues.
* Preparing consultation and communication materials which will include liaising with technical teams, potentially drafting copy and working with design teams.
* Ensuring an accurate record of engagement with stakeholders at all times, using our in-house CRM system.
* Analysing consultation responses and stakeholder feedback (quantitative and qualitative data) to ascertain key issues and trends to feed into reports.
* Identifying and implementing improvements to processes, procedures and systems to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
* A Level's or equivalent.
* A relevant degree
* The ability to be a strong team player who has an enthusiastic and motivated attitude.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Some experience of communications, public consultation and/or stakeholder engagement.
* Knowledge of social and digital media channels with a view to using these to better connect with target audiences.
* Well-ordered, structured approach to delivery of tasks, with ability to adapt within demanding and fast-changing environment.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills to manage a varied workload.
* Interest and passion for the infrastructure sector and how the delivery of these projects can create places where people want to live and work.
* The ability to understand complex information and translate this into copy which is clear and easy to understand.
* The ability to be highly organised and organise and analyse information and data.
* Excellent IT skills
You must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to adapt styles to a variety of media.
