Do you have strong data handling and analysis skills and are you seeking an Assistant Commercial Manager role in the north west? Here at Amey we have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Commercial Manager to provide commercial support as part of the Design Services team in Area 10.
This is an ideal opportunity for an individual with a commercial or financial background to gain commercial & contractual experience from a design perspective. In this role you will be responsible for the day-to-day commercial and contractual function, working closely with operational colleagues, design leads and senior management.
You will be responsible for collating and producing contractual information around costs, timeframes and resources to inform the wider commercial and highways teams. In addition, you will be responsible for supporting the production of applications for payment, tracking Early Warnings / Compensation Events and managing supplier accounts.
All whilst maintaining professional and effective working relationships with close liaison and open relationships with internal colleagues and the Client; based on trust & integrity.
Other key elements of the role will include contract administration, commercial strategy implementation, cash management, supply chain coordination, change management through early warnings & compensation events, risks & opportunity identifying and coordinating, month end reporting and internal & external forecasting.
This role would suit a proactive individual keen to establish their career within Commercial Management.
The successful candidate will have strong data handling and analysis skills and a firm knowledge of MS Excel; keen to drill into data and draw logical conclusions from it.
You will need to have a methodical approach to your work, with excellent attention to detail and sound numerical skills.
A background in commercial management or quantity surveying would be beneficial, as would any relevant qualification or degree, but is not essential.
You will need to be able to move between sites in Warrington and Manchester
The salary range is between £26,000-30,000 an attracts a contributory pension, 24 days holiday, 37.5 hour working week and access to a range of Amey Savings
