What is the purpose of this role?

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience to work on major infrastructure projects from inception to handover and work in a truly multidisciplinary design environment. You shall get an opportunity to showcase your design flare as well as develop your technical knowledge. You will need to:

* Be a critical part of the Architectural team in delivering design projects.

* Deliver projects from inception to completion, leading or working within a team to achieve the broadest project objectives.

* Deliver multi-discipline designs on projects through all RIBA Stages, particularly 2-4.

* Technical knowledge for implementing design solutions through production information and specification packages

* Effective communication with clients, contractors, third parties, multi-disciplinary team members Delivery of projects on time and to budget.

* Ensure governance process are followed to achieve the project technical assurance.

* Take ownership for and manage individual tasks and support projects, from conception to completion.

* Support all health and safety aspects, including specific CDM duties where appropriate.

* Support project portfolio update reports internally.

* Live and reinforce Amey Values within the ‘Project’ and wider Consulting teams.

* Work collaboratively with all Account stakeholders at every opportunity.

What will this role involve?

In a typical week you will:

* Support the Principle Architect manage the construction process by communicating with clients, contractors, third parties and internal multidiscipline team members.

* Familiarisation and implementation of in house quality system

* Assist the Principal Architect in the development of the team through training and mentoring.

* Have a strong technical background in detailed design and delivery of multidiscipline projects.

* Co-ordination between disciplines and have a good understanding of discipline activities.

* Complete the delivery of design/specification process through to tender document production, to include elements of design.

* Preparation of designs, schedules of work and specifications and design information including co-ordination of input from other design disciplines and external providers

* Assess requirement for, and prepare CDM design risk assessments as required.

* Support the design process in accordance with the Integrated Management System.

* Complete and input frequent and concise time recording records.

* Contribute to the preparation of applications and obtain statutory consents as required

* Complete design information and prepare tender documents.

* Travelling regularly to building sites, proposed locations and client meetings

What are we looking for?

We want to hear from you if you have:

Essential:

* Post-graduate experience and working as an assistant Architect or Architectural technician.

* Experience in various design applications including Revit (essential), AutoCAD, SketchUp & BIM.

* Knowledge of Building Regulations, Planning, H&S and other legislation.

* Strong design and co-ordination skills

* Able problem solving and technical realisation skills

* Demonstrable post-graduate experience in various design environments

* Computer literate and thoroughly conversant with MS Office suite

* Understanding of H&S legislation and particularly CDM Regs

* CSCS card or ability to hold the relevant professional card.

* Full UK Driving Licence

* Ability to obtain MOD Baseline Security Clearance and MOJ clearance

Desirable:

* Experience in using NBS and other relevant design / CA software.

* Experience in using Bentley Microstation

* Prince 2 qualified

* Experience in the Rail or light Rail sector.

* Bentley Project Wise Experience.
