Business Analytics Technical Specialist

We are seeking technical specialists with a strong technical track record of business analytics and/or data science to join our Solution Engineering team providing expertise in BI, Analytics and Data Science across all industry sectors.

This role is a technical, hands-on solution engineering role that will work closely with our sales teams to develop new business, as well as to position Oracle solutions at the heart of the largest transformations.

The successful candidate must have good understanding of the value of data and analytics across large organizations as well as proven experience on how to develop a data-driven strategy and be able to advice CXO level on how to become data-driven.

We are looking for team members who can develop and deliver high quality presentations and demonstrations from developer to CXO level and to articulate advanced product features and the benefits they will bring to address the customers need.

Experience in Analytics/BI tools is required along with passion, curiosity, technical depth, and exceptional communication/presentation skills. Data Science skills are also a distinct advantage. Strong hands-on skills are essential.

Responsibilities also include:

* Primary focus on Oracle's analytics offerings: OBIEE, Analytics Cloud, Data Visualisation, Data Science.
* Solution design: provide strong expertise to support local solution engineering in creating detailed technical and product solutions for specified needs.
* Solution sizing/costing and configuration.
* Conduct PoCs tailored to customers' needs and proof points.
* Discovery and capture workshops.
* Solution workshops and product positioning.
* Detailed product presentations in a selling situation.
* Interact with all roles at customer, including CIO, CTO, IT Architects, technical staff and business representatives.

Required Skills/Experience - What You’ll Bring

As well as knowledge of BI products and that market, we will also value candidates with proven experience in consulting organizations on analytics solutions on those areas.

Experience with Oracle's own Business Intelligence applications is a plus.

The Analytics Specialist must have demonstrated expertise in the following:

* Proven years of experience of Business Analytics tools, either from Oracle or other major players in this space.
* Hands on experience of building customer solutions or demos and a passion for technology.
* Database and Big Data knowledge would be an advantage including relational database modelling and design.
* Up to date knowledge of the Data Science market, including common technologies used.
* Wide knowledge of IT market and trends.
* Experience in a customer-facing role such as a consultant, pre-sales, solutions engineer or an architect in the cloud ecosystem.
* Proven track record of proactive problem solving.
* Strong hands-on technical skills.
* Good written skills for answering RFIs and RFPs.
* Excellent presentation skills at differing levels of an organisation from C-level executives to IT.
