Airfield Systems Engineer

Thales UK, a World leader in Air Traffic Management, offers a comprehensive range of CNS/ATM (Communications, Navigation, Surveillance/Air Traffic Management) solutions from design and integration to installation and maintenance. Thales UK is a wholly owned subsidiary of Thales, a World leader in professional electronics for civil and military markets.

You will add value by being responsible for all systems engineering aspects associated with the on-time, on-budget delivery of projects with typical value between £3-£10M. Typical projects would be to define, supply and install airfield systems including:

* Radars
* Navigational Aids.
* Airfield Ground Lighting systems.
* ATC Tower Systems.
* Radio and Voice Communications Control systems.
* Power Distribution systems
* Meteorological systems.

This role is likely to be of particular interest to systems engineers who have previously worked on airport systems installation projects

What does the job involve?

* Analyse customer requirements and propose solutions
* Produce system requirements and system design / procurement specification documentation required by the project.
* Work with the project manager to co-ordinate all engineering activities to accomplish the objectives of the project.
* Provide technical support associated with the supply, installation, test and handover phases of the project. Extended periods of travel may be necessary, especially to support site acceptance activities.

What are we looking for?

* Experience of civil works installation design experience and safety regulations (e.g. UK CDM).
* Team player and multi-tasking skills.
* Independent working.

In line with Thales' Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years. Some vacancies may require full Security Clearance which can require further evidence to be provided.
