Job description/Person specification

The Engineering Manager is responsible for the efficient, safe and effective conduct of specific aviation related programmatic activities. In the main, this will typically encompass Air platform Certification, Qualification, Performance and Operability domains, where Senior Engineers will provide scientific and / or technical advice, as well as programmatic consultation.

These tasks require solution definition effort and will be delivered in an Integrated Team, in accordance with the associate Project Delivery Plan and throughout the life-cycle from concept onwards. The role requires expertise within a discipline, probably within a specialised field, with individuals providing technical guidance and direction for his/her area of specialisation.

The individual influences decisions through advice, counsel or facilitating services to others in the area of specialisation, such that the work and performance of all teams within the area will be directly positively affected by the performance of the job. This will eventually impact the overall performance and effectiveness of the group.

It is likely there will be some input in the strategic thinking and application through the delivery cycle. There is an expectation that this individual may need to hold letters of airworthiness delegation if approved.

Qualifications:

A degree in Science or Engineering, or an equivalent, nationally recognised, professional qualification, with further on the job experience and growth of key skills, working in the domain and backed up with a demonstrable track record of achievement.

In lieu of the educational qualifier, would typically have substantial relevant technical support experience.

A PhD in a discipline considered to be of direct relevance to imminent or currently contracted work may be counted as an equivalent.

Registrations:

Grade holders will typically be close to, or have just achieved, membership status of a relevant professional body or similar accreditation.
