Opportunity for an Acoustic Engineer (or experienced Graduate Acoustic Engineer) to join our developing team in Manchester, M2 4DN. Please note, we would also consider Acoustic Engineers at/or approaching Senior grade for the right candidate.

Hydrock is an independently owned multidisciplinary consultancy, of circa 500 staff, operating out of 17 offices. It is one of The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For and a champion of well-being (note our recent Health and Wellbeing Leader of the Year award at the NCE100). You can check out our values here. We are currently growing at 10% per annum. We believe part of our success is looking after our people and our values help create a unique, dynamic, working environment.

Our BPE division offers the expertise required for world-class environmental design of buildings including acoustics, building physics, façade performance, mechanical and electrical systems, lighting design, occupational analysis, public health engineering, and low-to-zero carbon technologies.

We work across all sectors, including commercial, industrial, manufacturing, logistics, heritage, retail, leisure and residential for end user clients, investors, developers, architects, and project managers or engineer-led project teams. This diversity of work streams and the fact all team members work across every sector means we are constantly cross-pollinating ideas.

The team provides the following services to clients:

* Environmental noise surveys and assessments
* Acoustic design reports across the RIBA design stages
* Assessment of projects against British and International Standards
* Liaison with statutory authorities, architects, the design team and contractors
* Attendance at client, design and site meetings. Site inspections and reporting
* Development of in-house software spreadsheets and design tools
* Building acoustic models using CATT, Cadna, Odeon, SoundPlan, IMMI etc.

Requirements:

* Appropriate first degree in a related subject. Postgraduate education in acoustics desirable
* A minimum of two years qualitative and quantitative experience in building, architectural and environmental acoustics
* Excellent written and verbal communication
* Be a self-motivated team player with good people skills.

What you can expect?

Inspired and motivated colleagues. A good team, office and employer. A genuine opportunity to develop and to be recognised and rewarded.

The remuneration package will include a competitive salary and employer pension contribution, 25 days annual leave (with the option to buy/sell up to five days), well-being bonus and a wide variety of flexible benefits. There are also little things like a paid day off for good causes and free fresh fruit in every office.

A career with Hydrock offers you the chance to achieve your potential in a strongly people-focused and values-led business that provides great opportunities for professional and personal development.

Hydrock is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
