When I first joined Altran, I was working as part of the test team on a project that is part of a large air traffic control system. This was a brand new experience for me but I always had the support that I needed from the rest of the team. I learned a lot about the tools and processes used in verifying high-integrity software, which I applied to the design and the creation of a new tool that increased the efficiency of loading test data. I am now part of the project development team and have worked through multiple development cycles, from start to finish. Moving between teams was simple and helped grow my understanding of the overall project.
As a result of working in both environments, I've been able to identify my strengths and weaknesses to ensure that I'm continually improving. Although I studied Maths and Physics at University, the Altran graduate programme provided me with the skills and opportunities to become a well-rounded software engineer, even gaining me an accredited software testing certificate.
